How much is too much? How can we find balance in a world that is constantly trying to hook us on things? As you'll see this is a very personal episode for me and I hope you'll join me and Dr. Anna Lembke for this profound and important conversation about how we can not only moderate our consumption of things but also the science behind feeling good and what we can do to feel our best as therapists. There is a lot that you can pass on to your clients here as well as far as understanding the neuroscience of pleasure and pain.
Dr. Lembke received her undergraduate degree in Humanities from Yale University and her medical degree from Stanford University. She is currently Professor and Medical Director of Addiction Medicine, Stanford University School of Medicine. She is also Program Director of the Stanford Addiction Medicine Fellowship, and Chief of the Stanford Addiction Medicine Dual Diagnosis Clinic. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and a diplomate of the American Board of Addiction Medicine.
Her latest book, "Dopamine Nation: Finding Balance in the Age of Indulgence" was an instant New York Times and Los Angeles Times bestseller, and explores how to moderate compulsive overconsumption in a dopamine-overloaded world.
